It’s been a busy start to 2024 at D3!

Conferences

Here’s a quick roundup of our engagement with the international research community through conferences:

  • Presented at the CSDI (Comparative Survey Design & Implementation) workshop in Berlin, Germany on Fieldwork Challenges in LMICs: Case Studies from Southeast Asia.
  • Sponsored SID-US (Society for International Development) and attended the conference in Washington, D.C.
  • Sponsored AAPOR (American Association for Public Opinion Research) Conference in Atlanta, Georgia and presented two posters on Research Challenges Conducting a National Survey in Mongolia and Machine Learning Applications to Survey Data Quality and Fraud Detection.
  • Attended CIBAR (Conference of International Broadcasters Audience) in Riga, Latvia.
  • Attended WAPOR Sub-Saharan Africa Conference in Mombasa, Kenya.
  • Attended GIA (Gallup International Association) Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Attended MORS (Military Operations Research Society) in Monterey, California.

Looking ahead, we will be a platinum sponsor of the WAPOR (World Association for Public Opinion Research) Conference in Seoul, South Korea, July 28-31. D3’s Founder & CEO will be presenting on Innovation in Opinion Polling: Testing Three Modes and the Feasibility of Hybrid Polling, the Case of Finland, 2024. D3’s Natalie Bettencourt, Research Manager, will be moderating a panel on Challenges to Opinion Polling and Innovation in Southeast Asia.

New Hires

In a new milestone for D3, we just surpassed 50 staff, including administrators, researchers, and statisticians!

First, we would like to welcome back Connor Brassil as a Research Manager & Research Technology Specialist. He has returned with new expertise in data technology to assist with the rollout of D3’s new and improved Research Control Solutions.

Last but not least, as a part of our ongoing partnership with West Point’s AIAD (Academic Individual Advanced Development), we hosted Cadet Jay Sin. Cadet Sin came to D3 with a background in Operations Research and aided D3 in our project “Improving Army Decision-Making Through Survey Data Use.” Cadet Sin prepared analysis using D3 Futures data from Panama and Thailand.
